Mice & Rodent Control That Stops the Problem at the Source

Find entry points, treat the source, and seal mice and rats out for good.

A few droppings behind the stove or scratching in the walls at night almost always means more mice than you can see — a single female can produce dozens of offspring in a season. Check Pest Control does not just put down a couple of traps and leave. Our licensed technicians track how rodents are getting in, place tamper-resistant bait stations along their actual runways, and seal the gaps that let them back inside, so the colony collapses instead of rebuilding.

Seasonal note

Rodent calls spike in fall as the first cold nights push mice indoors. Booking an exclusion before October is the single best way to avoid a winter infestation.

Our Process

  1. 1

    Inspect

We walk the home inside and out to find droppings, gnaw marks, grease trails, and the gaps mice are using to get in.

  2. 2

    Treat

Bait stations and traps go exactly where rodents travel — along walls, behind appliances, and in the basement and garage.

  3. 3

    Exclude

We seal entry points around pipes, vents, and the foundation so new mice can’t replace the ones we removed.

  4. 4

    Verify

A follow-up visit confirms zero activity. If anything returns between visits, the Zero Pest Guarantee brings us back free.

Mice & Rodent Control — FAQs

How do I know if I have mice or rats?
Mice leave small (3–6 mm) dark droppings, light scratching in walls and ceilings, and gnaw marks on food packaging. Rats leave larger droppings, greasy rub marks along baseboards, and burrows outdoors. Our technicians identify the species on the first visit, because mice and rats need different bait placement and entry-point sealing to fully resolve.
Where do mice get into Ontario homes?
Mice can squeeze through a gap the width of a pencil. The most common entry points we find are around plumbing and dryer vents, gaps under garage doors, weep holes in brick, and where the foundation meets the siding. We document every opening during the inspection so they can be sealed as part of the treatment.
Is the bait safe around children and pets?
Yes. We use tamper-resistant, locked bait stations that children and pets cannot open, placed in areas they don’t access such as wall voids, utility rooms, and along exterior foundations. Where families prefer no rodenticide indoors, we can run a trap-only interior program with exterior bait stations instead.
How long does it take to get rid of mice?
Most homes see activity drop within the first week and reach full control in two to three weeks once the population is removed and entry points are sealed. Heavier infestations in older homes can take a bit longer, which is why every rodent job includes a follow-up visit and the Zero Pest Guarantee.
